Amarcord : The first time the Tour in 1930

The first time I arrived on the Tour of Italy in Sicily was in 1930. The cycling festival, now in its eighteenth edition, departed May 17 from Messina. The first leg ended in Catania, after 174 km. He won with the average of 26 km and 615, Michele Mara (the Bianchi rider) on Giuntella and Negrini.
The second was a true marathon of 280 km. Average of 23,143 triumphed Leonida Frascarelli (Legnano) on Negrini and Morelli. Negrini, third in the first leg, won the leader's jersey that was not pink because it was established the following year in 1931. The third and last stop in Sicily - from Palermo to Messina for 257 km - became a milestone for the rest. A win it was Luigi Marchisio (Wood) who had the better of War, arrived at nine seconds, and Cacioni. After 15 stages
Marchisio triumphed by 52 seconds ahead of Louis Jacob (Maine) and Allegro Grandi (Bianchi) at 5'51 ".
